I knew I’d be busy, but wow! This past week and a half has been a whirlwind! After my visit to UGA, I visited our chapter at the University of Central Missouri, and it was such a great experience. Between the hilariously tiny rental car we had (see photo below), to learning about what it’s like to live in a Panhellenic Hall, there were some awesome moments during this visit. Brittany, the other Leadership Consultant I was there to support, and I ate at some local spots and explored the small town of Warrensburg, Missouri. Most of my work was helping prepare the women at this chapter for their first Formal Recruitment and supporting Brittany in any way I could. One of my favorite moments from this visit was when the Greek Advisor introduced me to one of their Grad Assistants, who actually went to Sonoma State! It was hard to believe someone from SSU ended up at Central Missouri, and happened to come to the Greek Advisor’s office while I was there. Though I had not been formally introduced to her before, she and I definitely recognized each other and it was fun to hear about her experiences there. Talk about a small world!
My visit at UCM was only for a few days, then I headed back to the homeland- California! I have been in San Diego for the last week, and it has been super busy. I have had the privilege of staying in the brand new Aztec Suite, which is the space for the San Diego State Alpha Gams to utilize this year. I posted some pictures below- it’s amazing! Though this week was very busy with Polish Week (Recruitment Training), officer meetings, and Recruitment preparations, I found time to get dinner with two of my chapter sisters and old roommates while I was in town. It was great to catch up with them and I’m glad I had some time to spend time with old friends. Being in San Diego made me realize how much I appreciate Southern California weather after being in the south and midwest, where it was really humid! I will be spending these next few days at SDSU, then I’m off to Arizona State University for their Formal Recruitment. Can’t wait!
