It seems like I was in Dallas just last week..oh wait, I was! This time I’m just here for a layover. It’s a miracle that I actually woke up this morning at 4AM to take a taxi to the airport! Formal Recruitment season is officially over for me; what a whirlwind of a month. I just left San Diego State again after they executed their first Recruitment this past week- they did amazingly well! It was another exhausting, yet rewarding week and they have added some incredible New Members to their sisterhood. I was happy to have Kate, another Leadership Consultant, and Jen, IHQ’s Chapter Development Specialist, come to help during SDSU’s Recruitment. They were a huge help and we could have not done it without them. It was nice spending time with them amidst the craziness of Recruitment, and we even got to go to breakfast at Ocean Beach yesterday! Getting in the water was exactly what I needed to fill my “bucket”, even if my clothes got a little wet. I also managed to squeeze in time to get dinner with two of my friends from Sonoma State, Leanna and Chelsea last night. They both are going to Graduate School at SDSU and we were all Peer Mentors and Summer Orientation Leaders at SSU together. It was great to catch up with them while I was in town!
It’s hard to believe I survived so many back-to-back Recruitment visits, but I did! I am so excited to begin my month-long adventure at Appalachian State in Boone, North Carolina today. I am a part of the colonization team that will be starting a brand new Alpha Gam chapter there, and I could not be more excited to learn about this whole new area of this job. I will be able to recruit New Members for the colony on campus, host interviews and help execute recruitment events. There will be a lot to learn but I can’t wait to see some familiar faces and a brand new campus!
