I just realized I haven’t written anything on my blog in almost a month, so I wanted to give a quick update! After spending five days at Alpha Gamma Delta International Headquarters in Indianapolis at the end of April, I made my final two visits for the year at the University of Kansas and CSU Chico. Debrief in Indy included staff-wide meetings, a review of the past semester, meetings with several departments at IHQ, spending time with the Leadership Consultant team, great food, canvas painting with the staff, and even a gondola ride on the canal downtown! It was great to see everyone in person, discuss our organizational needs, and share what our chapters across North America have accomplished this year. I will be back in Indianapolis on June 18 for The Leadership Conference (TLC) and summer training at IHQ with the 2015-2016 team. Thirteen new LCs were hired and two of us will be returning for a second year :). I am looking forward to getting to know all of them this summer!
Lawrence, Kansas has to be one of my favorite hidden gems in the Midwest! I had a fun and productive Leadership Development visit at KU and got to enjoy the perfect weather (sunny and 70). I even snuck on a campus tour between meetings and loved every minute of it. After leaving Lawrence, KS, I flew back to California for my final visit of the year at CSU Chico. It was a great visit and I was glad I was able to chat with one of the newly-hired LCs, Victorina, who will be joining the team next year.
After I got off the road on May 8, I took a trip to northern Arizona and Utah with my stepsister, Hannah, which was a blast! We visited Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend and spent a few days at Zion National Park. We did lots of hiking and exploring, rented bikes at Zion and stopped in Vegas on the way home for a buffet lunch. I’m so glad we were able to squeeze this trip in because I had been dying to go for a while! I posted lots of pictures on Facebook if you want to take a look.
Two days after the AZ/UT trip, my family and I took yet another road trip to northern California to celebrate my sister, Erica’s college graduation. Erica graduated with a B.A. in Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations- I’m so proud of her! It was an awesome weekend and it was great to see everyone from college, as well as all of our extended family that came to town. We drove back down to Orange County yesterday and I have been running errands all day today before leaving tonight for Europe. I will be traveling for the next month with my friend Courtney and we can’t wait! Here are the places we will be headed: Milan, Italian Riviera/Portofino, Cinque Terre, Florence, Venice, a 10 day trip throughout Croatia, Prague, Vienna, Salzburg, and Munich. If you have been to any of these places and have advice/travel tips, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org! I will not have cell phone access on my trip but I will have iMessage and Whats App when I have wifi sporadically. I’ll make sure to take lots of pictures! Thanks for reading :).
